(Disclaimer : I’ve nothing to do with service provider I’ll mention later, I’m just a loyal user)
Internet connection is already a needs for peoples nowadays. Although some might think that Internet is just another reason to waste our precious time. This is the age of internet technology when the whole world is at our fingertips so to say. Enough with exam’s essay like writing. I’ll proceed with my main concern. I need a broadband service a.k.a internet connection.

This is Celcom’s new promotion. According to my understanding it is Celcom Broadband and Streamyx packaged together. Which particularly means that the subscriber will have both wireless and landline internet service (as shown in the website snapshot above).
It is an interesting package. I asked a shop assistant about this, she mention that it is possible to just addon to the existing streamyx subsciption and convert into this package. How? Buy a Modem and register to Celcom service center. Ask them to convert the existing subscription.
So…my plan is just to add on to my brother’s streamyx subscription. And…maybe just ask him to pay for the monthly. Cunning isn’t it. However I need to get the modem with my own effort. Unless I will feel self contempt.
The questions are?
- Have anyone of you tried the service?
- How is it? Is the Celcom connection working fine? (In UTM Skudai?)
- Which modem should I go for?
- How much is a modem cost?
I will appreciate any response and comment regarding the service. I want some advice about it. Or Maybe should I try Maxis service? Or whatever it is. Or any link to the information.
I’m just too lazy to search for info in those forums scattered across the land call internet.
Thanks…those below are some persuasive utopian statement made by Celcom in their site.

i would prefer to wait for WiMax, tat’s the trend of future broadband for malaysian (if the government dun stop the project as planned).
1Mbps for streamyx consider very slow! and i dun think celcom broadband is providing good service (still in 3G while maxis already 3.5 G lo)
one more thing, heard the modem is damn expensive!

I’m a Maxis broadband user. Not only me, but sharing with 3 others my rumate. Hmm, the package that you mentioned in this post is rather interesting. I think, I’m gonna dig up some info on this..Me& my rumates just using the cheapest package of maxis broadband and the connection still ok, maybe we are in Klang valley I guess.
But celcom broadband+streamix, how could I resist?
